Jetwing Lighthouse

Jetwing Lighthouse is set right on the coast in the south-west corner of Sri Lanka. Situated atop a hillside overlooking the pretty port of Galle. They fill the rock-cut pool and provide wide blue vistas from the terraces, the bedrooms and the dining room. From the lawns beside the main pool, sea and pool seem to merge indefinably, mirroring the palm trees that surround the hotel. The hotel offers a Colonial feel as guests step inside the cool entrance hall and your eye is drawn to the spiral staircase and its sculpted metalwork balustrade an amazing work of art depicting horsemen in battle – an age-old tale, and a scene that seems to belie the hospitality and comforts the Lighthouse offers its guests. The hotel’s stairway is an artistic masterpiece depicting the Portuguese landing at Galle, while The Coats of Arms bar boasts 18th Century batiks, a reminder of the region’s rich heritage. The teak-furnished Cinnamon Room, serving seafood and other fine cuisine, and the coffee-shop Cardamom Café have an atmosphere as evocative as their names.
